Clothes for a cause: Fashion Targets Breast Cancer
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so pay a visit to Net-A-Porter.com's dedicated Fashion Targets Breast Cancer page, where you'll find exclusive fundraising looks by Ralph Lauren, Diane von Furstenberg, and Marchesa, among others.Ralph Lauren founded Fashion Targets Breast Cancer in 1994 in response to a plea from the late Washington Post fashion critic Nina Hyde, who was fighting the disease at the time. All proceeds from this limited edition Ralph Lauren/Fashion Targets Breast Cancer fitted polo shirt ($75), found exclusively on Net-A-Porter, will benefit FTBC charities globally. The shirts, which come in red, yellow, green, blue and white, are priced at $75 each.
Creative director David Lipman and photographer Patrick Demarchelier developed the ad campaign, which features top models Daria Werbowy, Lily Donaldson, Lily Cole, Du Juan and Sasha Pivovarova wearing the shirts.
Hollywood has been enthusiastic in its support of the cause—Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Brooke Shields, Cameron Diaz, Charlize Theron, Sienna Miller, and Penelope Cruz have their own FTBC polos.
