Musical brainwashing helps you learn Russian

Venturing deep in to realm of musical mnemonics, Berlitz has devised an effective new means of language-learning based on sing-a-long brainwashing techniques
You know how non-English speakers around the world are somehow able to sing their favorite David Hasselhoff or Milli Vanilli song, word-perfect? Berlitz Earworms' "Musical Brain Trainer" is based on that very phenomenon. "The music acts as a catalyst for the memorization of words and anchors the new vocabulary deep in the long term memory," they say.
Imagine, for instance, you're in Greece shooting  a documentary on the singer Vangelis. You desperately need to memorize the Greek term for 'Excuse me!', phonetically written messee ohriteh. The tape will ask you to sing 'Excuse me, I've got a messy oil heater'. Which sounds so odd, you can't help but remember it for the rest of your days.
"Some may call it brainwashing," said a spokesman, "but Berlitz Earworms takes the hard work out of learning."
Compatible with iPod and MP3 devices, the audio pack comes with a booklet that contains all the words and phrases spoken on the CD, plus the sounds of the word. Berlitz Earworms comes in two volumes: Volume 1 is a survival kit of essential words and phrases, while Volume 2 allows you to talk about yourself, past, present and future, express opinions, chat, and even flirt. (I wonder how you say "how you doin?" in Chinese?)
$24.95 from www.earwormslearning.com. Available in Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
