Sexy beast: Strange Invisible Perfumes' "Musc Botanique"

Feral and somewhat pungent on the initial spray, Strange Invisible Perfume's new unisex Musc Botanique fragrance does mellow out, evolving over time from libidinous alley cat to distinguished Siamese.
Launched in 2000 by Alexandra Balahoutis (stepdaughter of producer Jerry Bruckheimer), Strange Invisible Perfumes is known for its refined yet unusual scents—and this latest launch is no exception.
Created entirely from flower and plant essences (no synthetic deer aroma here), Musc Botanique (7.5 ml Parfum is $185 and 50 ml Eau de Parfum is $135) features notes of geranium, white amber, angelica and frankincense. Wearers are encouraged to layer it with other perfumes.
I found the frankincense a little overwhelming—but then I like my scents powdery and boudoirish. My friends who are a little less girly than me were impressed with Musc Botanique's subtly animalistic effect, however.
Growl.
Strange Invisible Perfumes is celebrating the launch of Musc Botanique at Turpan, in Brentwood, CA on Thursday, September 18th from 5-8pm. You're invited. Turpan, Brentwood Country Mart, 225 26th Street, at San Vicente Boulevard, Santa Monica (310-451-9500)
